Frequently Asked Questions

We always prefer high res .pdfs (images converted to curves) or .AI files. If other files such as .jpgs or .png’s are supplied, then printing resolution is compromised.
Absolutely. We have a demo room where we can show you printers we sell, and labels that we have printed for customers. We have support sales staff that would happily answer all questions you may have around your specific requirement.
As a label printing company, we have been going for 23 years. So, we must be doing something right. :)

Blank Labels: 3-5 work days
Digital printed full colour labels: 1-3 work days
Flexo printed full colour: 6-8 work days

Yes without doubt.
For low volume labels, we have our Print Bureau for budget 1 colour black labels or our Digital Bureau for high resolution, full colour labels.
Good question.
Digital printing is expensive (in label terms). However, for low quantity labels (1 to 250) you can have high resolution printed labels manufactured which would cost less than Flexo
printing.
Flexo printing is more suited for medium to long print runs. It is a cheaper form of printing full colour labels, but origination costs are required. I.e. for every colour that is used in the label a once off plate fee charge is added.
We know that when searching the internet for information, we are always looking for fast answers.  If we are patient and can wait for replies. Email and Contact sheets are fine.

However, If you would like to have a quick answer, then use our Whatsap button. You will immediately be connected to a dedicated phone, and can communicate with a live person. Not a bot!
LPT supply three different qualities:

Premium Wax: is the most commonly used and provides a small amount of abrasion resistance. It can be used on Semi-gloss and Vellum face stock papers. This is the most budget friendly of all qualities.
Wax Resin: Is a Premium Wax ribbon with an element of Resin added. This makes the printed image more abrasion resistant than a straight Premium Wax ribbon. It is mainly used on semi-gloss face stocks.
Resin: This ribbon is used only on super smooth surfaces such as polypropylenes and cast gloss surfaces. It uses a high degree of printhead temperature to release the ribbon from the bearer and as a result provides a very high abrasion resistant image on labels.
As a rule of thumb, if you would like to print up to 2 000 labels a day, and the labels are smaller than 100x33mm, then an entry level printer would be the recommended choice. Entry level printers are priced at around R4 000.00 exc.

An industrial printer can start at R10 500.00 exc and can print all different sizes and quantities. Ie it is built to print labels!
LPT have the following extra finishing stations that add extra attraction to a label.

Hot Foil: This station applies a metallic finish to certain parts of the label to create a shiny appeal.
High Build: This station creates a raised, see through, resin image over the printed image on the label.
Emboss and Deboss: A customised block “indents” the face stock either upwards (emboss) or downwards (deboss) creating a raised label surface look. These finishes can be found mostly on wine and spirit labels.
Yes, you can. LPT sell one colour thermal transfer printers  which uses a thermal transfer ribbon (black) to impart an image (via a thermal printhead) onto a blank label. These labels are designed on label software that comes free with each printer sold. Once you have purchased a printer (Entry level or Industrial) all you need to do is:

1. Install the label design software on your PC
2. Load the Blank labels and Thermal Transfer Ribbons supplied by LPT.
3. Design the label to the specifications required.
4. Print the amount you require.
